Bus, train to stay shut in Khulna for a week

Bus and train services will remain shut in Khulna during the one-week lockdown starting from Tuesday.

Apart from this, all other vehicles, including three-wheelers, will also remain suspended, a press release signed by deputy commissioner (DC) Mohammad Helal Hossain said on Sunday afternoon.

According to the press release, all kinds of shops, markets, shopping malls, and coaching centers will remain closed from June 22 to 28.

But the shops of daily commodities and kitchen markets will stay open from 7am to 2pm every day.

During the lockdown, the hotels and restaurants can sell food as parcel, and pharmacies are allowed to operate.

All types of tourist spots, resorts, community centers, and recreation places will remain shut. People won't be permitted to go outside except for urgent needs.

In the press release, all people have been warned of legal action if they do not comply with the restrictions.

Khulna district administration, however, imposed the strict lockdown as the coronavirus infections have increased in the district recently.
