Legal notice served to ban TikTok, PUBG, Free Fire

A legal notice has been sent to the government seeking a ban on online games PUBG, and Free Fire; short video sharing apps TikTok, and Likee; and live streaming platform Bigo Live in Bangladesh.

Two lawyers of the Supreme Court - Barrister Mohammad Humayun Kabir Pallab and Barrister Mohammad Kawser - sent the notice on behalf of the 'Law and Life' foundation.

They also threatened to file a writ petition in the High Court if measures are not taken to block access to the games and apps within 48 hours after receiving the notice.

Lawyer Pallab confirmed the matter to Jago News.

In the notice, the lawyers said the young men and adolescents are widely being addicted to online multiplayer games like PUBG and Free Fire; and online platforms TikTok, Likee, and Bigo Live that they said alarming for the country.
