Lockdown extended for another month

The government extended the ongoing lockdown to July 15 midnight in an effort to limit the coronavirus spread.

The Cabinet Division issued a gazette notification in this regard on Wednesday.

In the notification, six conditions were mentioned to comply with these during the lockdown.

The conditions as follows:

1. The deputy commissioners (DC) of the districts having a high risk of COVID-19 can take effective measures, including imposing lockdown, in respective areas according to the rules to prevent infections, discussing with the technical committee concerned.

2. All public, semi-government, autonomous, and private offices, banks and financial institutions will remain open, following the health guidelines.

3. All tourist spots, resorts, community centers and recreation centers will stay shut.

4. Social gatherings like the post-marriage ceremony, birthday celebration, picnic, party etc., political and religious rituals will have to be kept closed.

5. Residential hotels, restaurants, and food shops can sell/supply (Takeaway/Online) from 6am to 10pm.

6. The authorities concerned will ensure plying of all kinds of transport with half passenger capacity.
