Razakar Razzak, Muhibur seek acquittal

Habiganj Razakar Muhibur Rahman Boromia and his cousin Abudur Razzak filed appeals seeking acquittal from death sentenced and imprisonment until death respectively.

Their counsel Masud Rana filed the appeals to the concern division of the Appellate Division on Thursday.

The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) on June 1 awarded death penalty to one Habiganj Razakar while another two have been jailed unto death for their crimes in 1971.

Muhibur Rahman has been awarded death penalty and his brother Mujibur Rahman alias Angur Mia and their cousin Abdur Razzak have been jailed unto death.

They were accused in four charges of murder, abduction, rape, torture, loot and arson committed during the 1971 Liberation War.

All of the accused hail from Baniachong Upazila’s Khagaurha Union in Habiganj.
