Lightning kills 2 children in Bhola

Two children died in lightning strikes in Char Fasson upazila of Bhola district on Thursday afternoon.

The deceased were Zahirul Islam Sagor, 11, son of Md Kuddus Majhi, and Sifat Hossain Shanto, 9, son of Abdul Sattar, residents of South Madraz village in the upazila.

Confirming the matter, Ewazpur UP chairman Md Mahabub Alam Khokan said thunderbolts hit a few children in the village around 2pm when they were playing beside their home amid rain, leaving them injured.

The locals took them to Char Fasson Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared two dead.
