Satkhira put on one-week lockdown

The local administration in Satkhira put the district on lockdown for one week from Saturday as coronavirus infections rose.

The decision was taken in an emergency meeting of the district coronavirus infection prevention committee held at the conference room of the district administration on Thursday.

It was decided in the meeting that all kinds of public transport, shopping malls and markets will remain shut during the lockdown.

But the shops of daily commodities will stay open from 9am to 12 noon.
