Rangpur mayor gets state minister status

The government has upgraded the status of the mayor of Rangpur City Corporation (RCC) to state minister level.

Cabinet Division issued a gazette notification in this regard on Wednesday.

Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam told media that the elevation was made as per the Prime Minister’s  directives.

From now on, RCC mayor Sarfuddin Ahmed Jhantu will avail all facilities and allowances of a state minister.
