Youth held for 'raping' schoolgirl

Police in Rangpur city arrested a young man on Friday night in a case filed for allegedly raping a schoolgirl intimidating to spread a video of her bathing.

The victim told her family that her maternal cousin Simanta Islam, 19, raped her in a mess in the city on May 19 that led her father to file the case against him with Tajhat Police Station.

The case statement and family sources said Simanta also violated her on several occasions intimidating to spread a video of her bathing he videorecorded two years ago.

The police station sub-inspector (SI) Sultana Khatun said the victim has been sent to court to take her statement.
