Cyclone 'Yaas': Vessel operations halted

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) has suspended operations of all types of water vessels, including passenger ones, due to adverse weather by the influence of severe cyclonic storm 'Yaas'.

BIWTA chief Golam Sadek told Jago News, "It has been asked to halt the movement of all kinds of water vessels, including passenger ones, from Tuesday afternoon because of catastrophic weather by the influence of cyclone."

The suspension will remain effective until further notice, he added.
