Journalist Rozina gets bail

A Dhaka court has granted bail to Rozina Islam, senior reporter of the Daily Prothom Alo, in a case filed under the Official Secrets Act.

The virtual court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Baki Billah granted the bail on a bond of Tk 5,000 and has also asked to submit her passport.

Earlier on Thursday, the bail hearing of Rozina was ended at the same court in the case. The court also fixed Sunday to deliver the verdict.

To be noted, Rozina was confined to the health ministry inside the Secretariat for more than five hours before being handed over to Shahbagh Police Station on Monday night. She was shown arrested in the case on charges of spiriting away “important” documents.
