Lockdown extended for another week
The ongoing lockdown imposed to prevent the coronavirus spread has been extended for another week to May 23.
The Cabinet Division issued a gazette notification in this regard on Sunday.
Two new conditions have been included with the previous guidelines, considering the current situation of COVID-19 infection, the notification said.
The conditions as follows:
1. All offices/agencies related with realizing the government's revenue will fall under the emergency services;
2. Food shops, and hotel-restaurant can only sell/supply food.
A strict eight-day lockdown was imposed from April 14 to curb the coronavirus outbreak with 13 guidelines to comply with.
Later, it was prolonged till May 16 in phases with amendments in the guidelines.
However, the intra-district buses will ply but inter-district ones, and train and launch services will remain shut during the extended lockdown.
Shopping malls and markets will stay open from 10am to 10pm, and the mill factory remain operative, following the health guidelines.
All public and private offices except the emergency service providing institutions, and banks will remain open.
