4 sued over speedboat accident in Padma
Four people have been sued in connection with the speedboat capsize in Padma River at Shibchar upazila of Madaripur that left 26 people dead.
Lokman Hossen, Sub Inspector of River police, filed the case with Shibchar Police Station on Monday midnight.
The accused are ferry ghat leaseholder Yakub Bepari, speedboat owner Kandu Molla, Jahirul Islam and driver Shahalam.
Miraz Hossen, officer-in-charge of Shibchar Police Station, said a case has been filed against four named people and 10 to 12 unnamed people.
However, the bodies of 26 people were handed over to their families on Monday night.
To be noted, 26 people were killed as a speedboat capsized in the Padma River at Shibchar upazila after it hit a standing bulkhead on Monday morning.
