2 die as fire breaks out at oil tanker in Patenga
Two people died and three others sustained burn injuries after a fire broke out at an oil tanker named Irabati in Patenga of Chattogram on Thursday morning.
The injured are Abu Sufian, 47, Sahabuddin, 60 and Monir Hossen, 34.
They were admitted to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH).
The reason behind the fire could not be known immediately.
The fire broke out around 7am. Members of fire service and navy took the fire under control around 9am.
Newton Dash, Deputy Assistant Director of Chattogram Fire Service, confirmed the matter to Jago News.
Sheelbrata Barua, Assistant Sub Inspector of CMCH police outpost, said three workers of the oil tanker were sent to the hospital. Of them, two are in critical condition.
