Bangladesh approves Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine

The government of Bangladesh has approved Russian Sputnik V Coronavirus vaccine for emergency use in the country.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the Directorate General of Drug Administration on Tuesday.

The approval was given by the Committee on Emergency Public Health Medicines, Experimental Medicines, Vaccines and Medical Equipment formed by the Ministry of Health.

Now, there is no legal bar on the import and use of this Russian vaccine.

Earlier on April 22, Foreign Minister of Bangladesh Abdul Momen said that Bangladesh is taking the Russia’s assistance to produce Coronavirus vaccine.

A memorandum of understanding has been inked between the two countries in this regard, the minister said.
