2 madrasa teachers killed as truck hits motorcycle

Two madrasa teachers were killed and another teacher was injured as a truck hit a motorcycle on Natore-Bagura highway at Ferryghat bridge area in Singra upazila of Natore on Saturday morning.

The deceased were identified as Khalilur Rahman, founder and teacher of Tebaria Halimatus Sadia Madrasa and its teacher Belal Hossen.

The injured is Abdul Hamid, a teacher of the madrasa.

Kishore Kumar Roy, officer-in-charge of Singra Police Station, said three teachers riding on a motorcycle were going to collect paddy for orphanage children from Chalan Beel. When they reached Singra bridge, a truck hit the motorcycle from behind, leaving two of them dead and injured another.

“The injured person was admitted to Singra Upazila Health Complex. The bodies of the duo were taken at the police station,” the OC said.
