Hefazat leader Kashemi placed on 5-day remand

A Dhaka court has placed Hefazat-e-Islam’s central assistant secretary general and its Dhaka city vice president Khurshid Alam Kashemi on a five-day remand in a case filed over the rampage in the capital eight years ago.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Baki Billah granted the five-day remand after the investigation officer of the case produced him before the court with ten-day remand prayer on Thursday.

Earlier, on Wednesday afternoon, Detectives arrested him from Mohammadpur area in the capital.
