Mamunul put on 7-day remand

A Dhaka court has placed Hefazat-e-islam Joint Secretary General Mamunul Haque on a seven-day remand in a case filed with Mohammadpur Police Station over sabotage.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Debdas Chandra Adhikari passed the order on Monday.

Earlier, police produced him before the court with seven-day remand prayer at 11:09am.

Abdul Latif, officer-in-charge of Mohammadpur Police Station, on Sunday night said that they found his (Mamunul) involvement in vandalism and sabotage activities.

To be noted, Detectives arrested Mamunul from Jamia Rahmania madrasa in the capital’s Mohammadpur at 12:50pm on Sunday.
