Islamic preacher Rafiqul sued under Digital Security ACT
A Digital Security case has been filed against Rafiqul Islam Madani, popularly known as Shishu Bokta (child preacher), on charge of spreading anti-state and provocative statements.
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) filed the case with Gazipur’s Gacha Police Station around 2am on Thursday. Later, the elite force handed him to the police station.
Commander Khandakaer Al Moeen, Director of the Law and Media Branch of the RAB, confirmed the matter on Thursday morning.
Earlier, on March 25, police detained Rafiqul from Motijheel during a demonstration protesting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Dhaka visit, but he was released from custody a couple of hours later.
