Coronavirus: Govt reports 35 more deaths
Bangladesh government reported 35 more COVID-19 deaths and 3,908 new cases in the last 24 hours.
With this, the country's total infections and fatalities reached respectively 5,95,714 and 8,904, the health directorate said in a press release on Sunday.
Of the total patients, 5,35,941 recovered, with 2,119 made recovery in the last 24 hours.
The daily count came from test of 22,136 samples in the past day. With this, a total of 45,88,830 samples have, so far, been tested.
Bangladesh first reported its COVID-19 cases on March 8. Since then it has been struggling to curb spread of the highly contagious virus.
Coronavirus first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December last year, and then its outbreak was seen across the world
However, the epidemic infected 127,389,878 people and killed 2,791,015 across the globe till date, according to Worldometer, a website which compiles coronavirus cases and deaths.
Total number of people who recovered from the deadly virus reached 102,673,560 across the world.
