New transportation system centering Dhaka: PM

Prime minister on Sunday said government has taken projects to build round road, nautical route and railway to make transportation smooth centering Dhaka city.  

Though excessive people live in the city but roads and communication system of the capital is not good enough so present government has taken necessary steps to make Dhaka’s communication system more easier, she came up with these remarks in an inauguration program of much-hyped first-ever metro rail service in the capital and the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) in the city.

He said there will be 16 electrical stations for metro rail where people can easily move.

With every metro rail train comprising six air-conditioned spacious cars, a city commuter will travel between Motijheel and north Uttara in 37 minutes, she said.

She also said a total of 24 trains will together transfer 60,000 passengers every hour on both directions.

Prime Minster disclosed that now her government trying to developed regional communication among Bhutan, India and Nepal which’s agreement has all ready been signed.
