No decision yet on general holidays: Minister
Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Malik on Wednesday said the government has yet to make any decision on the general holidays or lockdown amid a current surge in the coronavirus cases.
"No decision has yet been taken in this regard (general holidays or lockdown). If such decision is taken from the highest level, we'll inform," he replied to a query from the journalists after a meeting on MBBS exams at his Secretariat office.
Bangladesh has been seeing a sharp rise in coronavirus cases for the last couple of days, with the government recorded more than 3500 cases for last two consecutive days.
The country first reported its COVID-19 cases on March 8 last year, and subsequently declared about three months general holidays or lockdown in a bid to limit spread of the highly contagious virus.
