Covid-19 in Bangladesh: New deaths 25, cases 3567
Twenty five more people died from coronavirus in Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, taking the death toll to 8,715.
During the period, 3,567 more people were diagnosed with the virus, raising the total infection to 5,74,445, the Directorate General of Health Services said in a press release on Wednesday.
Of the total patients, 5,27,909 recovered, with 1,915 made recovery in the last 24 hours.
The daily count came from test of 27,502 samples in the past day. With this, a total of 44,87,686 samples have, so far, been tested.
Bangladesh first reported its COVID-19 cases on March 8. Since then the country has been struggling to limit spread of the highly contagious virus.
Coronavirus first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December last year, and then spread to newer countries and territories.
Till date, the epidemic infected 124,908,399 people and killed 2,748,466 across the globe, according to Worldometer, a website which compiles number of new coronavirus cases and deaths from it.
However, total number of people who recovered from the coronavirus pandemic reached 100,910,409 across the world.
