Three die as truck rams auto-rickshaw

Three people were killed in a road accident in Shahjadpur upazila of Sirajganj district early Friday. 

The deceased were identified as Rashedul, 26, son of Azad, Shakib, 17, son of Asgar Ali, residents of Dariarpur Uttarpara, and the auto-rickshaw driver Ashique, 20, son of Amzad, resident of Shaktipur village in the upazila.

Hatikumrul Highway Police Station officer in-charge (OC) Shahjahan Ali said a truck rammed into a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Hylaghati area around 2:30am as its driver lost control over steering, leaving three dead on the spot.

Later, cops from Hatikumrul Highway Police Station, Shahjadpur Police Station, and Shahjadpur Fire Service and Civil Defense recovered the bodies from the spot and handed over these to the families, Shahjahan said.
