Maldives President arrives in Dhaka

Maldives President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih arrived in Dhaka on Wednesday morning to attend celebrations of Bangladesh’s golden jubilee of independence and birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

President Abdul Hamid received his Maldivian counterpart at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 8:30am.

President Solih will attend the National Parade Ground function at Tejgaon. President Hamid will also be there at 4:30pm.

The Maldivian President, as part of his three-day Bangladesh visit, will pay a courtesy call on President Hamid at Credential Hall of the Bangabhaban at 7pm on Thursday.

Solih would also sign the visitors’ book at Bangabhaban and witness the signing of some MoUs between the two countries.

Later, the Maldivian President will join dinner and cultural programme hosted by his Bangladesh counterpart at Durbar Hall ground of Bangabhaban.

He left Dhaka on Friday morning.
