Monirul promoted to Chief of Special Branch of Police

The government has promoted Additional Commissioner of Police and Chief of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) Unit Md Monirul Islam to the post of Chief of Special Branch of Police.   

The Public Security Division of Home Ministry issued a gazette notification on Sunday morning in this regard. 

Earlier, Monirul joined CTTC as a chief of the unit on February 16 in 2016.

He was born on June 15 in 1970. He did his Graduation followed by Masters in English from University of Dhaka. Later, he obtained his LLB in British Law from Northumbria University, UK.

Monirul joined Bangladesh Police as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) holding the first place in order of merit in the Police batch through 15th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) Exams in 1995.
