Missing 7-year-old boy found dead

Police recovered the body of a seven-year-old boy from inside of a septic tank in Rangpur city on Saturday afternoon, 27 days after he had gone missing.

Deceased Siman Babu was the son of Bellal Mia, hails from Lalmonirhat district. The minor would stay at the house of his grandfather (maternal) at Robertganj Tatipara in Rangpur city.

Abdur Rashid, officer in-charge (OC) of Kotwali Police Station under Rangpur Metropolitan Police, said Abdus Salam, grandfather of Siman, filed a general diary mentioning that his grandson went missing on February 14. 

Today the workers spotted the body of the boy inside a septic tank of an under-construction building besides his grandfather's home and informed police, Rashid said. 

Later, the law enforcers, and the fire fighters went to the spot and retrieved the body, the OC added.

The police official also said they are looking into the incident.
