Housewife found hanging in Bogura

Police recovered the hanging body of a housewife from Sherpur upazila of Bogura on Thursday night.

Deceased Suma Akter Bobita, 40, was the wife of Ziaur Rahman, a resident of Hapunia Uttarpara village in the upazila.

Morzina Begum, mother of the housewife, claimed her daughter committed suicide in bed room on Thursday afternoon as she failed to bear the torture by her 'gambler husband.' 

She alleged her son-in-law was a gamber and he would often physically and mentally torture Bobita for money for gambling.

Sherpur Police Station officer in-charge Shahidul Islam Shahid said police sent the body to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

An unnatural death case, has, however, been lodged with the police station in this connection, the OC added.
