Section 144 imposed in Noakhali’s Basurhat

The local administration has imposed section 144 in Basurhat municipality of Companiganj Upazila in Noakhali district after one person was killed in a factional clash between two groups of local Awami League.   

The Section 144 will remain in force from 6am to 12pm on Wednesday, said Companyganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ziaul Haque Meer.  

All kinds of meetings, rally and gatherings have been prohibited during this period, he said.  

To be noted, one named Alauddin was killed in a clash between the supporters of Basurhat municipality mayor Abdul Quader Mirza and former mayor of Companiganj upazila Mizanur Rahman Badal around 10pm on Tuesday.
