6 of a family burnt in Narayanganj fire
Six people of a family burnt in a fire that broke out on sixth floor of a six-storey building at Masdair area in Fatullah of Narayanganj in the wee hours of Tuesday.
The fire victims are Mohammad Bishal, 28, his wife Mita, 24, daughter Afsana, 5, son Minhaz and brother-in-laws Mahfuzul, 12 and Sabbir, 15.
They were first sent to a local hospital and then sent to Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit. Of them, four are in critical conditions.
Bachchu Miah, Inspector of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) outpost, confirmed the incident to Jago News.
Bishal’s neighbor Masud said, the fire incident took place around 12am. There was a gas leakage in their kitchen room.
Partha Shankar Paul, Resident Doctor of the burn institute, said Bishal sustained 90 percent burn injuries, his wife 15 percent, 18-month old son Minhaz 45 percent, daughter Afsana 10 percent, his brother-in-laws Mahfuzul 85 percent and Sabbir 45 percent.
