Three Hizb ut-Tahrir members held in city
Police have arrested three members of banned militant outfit Hizb ut-Tahrir in the capital.
The arrestees have been identified as Atiqur Rahman, Maksudur Rahman and SM Sajib.
Sutrapur Police Station officer in-charge Muhammad Mamunur Rahman said police conducted a drive in DIT Market area at Subhash Bose Avenue under the police station on Thursday night and nabbed them.
The arrestees were plotting subversive acts aiming to create fear among people by making the country an unstable one, the OC told Jago News.
He said the law enforcers seized five books of Syed Abul A'la Maududi, a monthly report, an annual report, a book with spiral binding and a white pad from their possession.
A case has, however, been filed with the police station in this connection, the OC added.
