Cop killed in a road accident

A police member was killed in a road accident in Baliakandi upazila of Rajbari district on Sunday afternoon.

Deceased HM Rony alias Hadi Rony, 25, worked at Armed Police Battalion headquarters in Dhaka and was the son of Piar Ali of Pakkandi village in the upazila.

Local UP member Akram Hossain said Rony's motorcycle hit hard roadside tree as he lost control over it, leaving him critically injured.

He was first taken to Baliakandi Upazila Health Complex and from there sent to Faridpur Medical College Hospital where he died, Akram added.

Baliakandi Police Station officer in-charge Tariquzzaman confirmed the incident.
