Schoolgirl gang raped in Gopalganj

A schoolgirl has been gang raped in Tungipara upazila of Gopalganj district.

The victim's father on Friday night lodged a case with Tungipara Police Station in this connection.

The case statement said a schoolgirl was abducted by three young men on her way to home from Sancharan Coaching Center, Patgaon on February 14 night and later gang raped in an unknown place.

Around 8pm, she was found unconscious in front of their house, the statement said.

According the case statement, she was rushed to Tungipara Upazila Health Complex and later, referred to Gopalganj Sadar Hospital as her condition deteriorated.

On the following day, the victim was taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital after her condition wonsened.

The victim's father said, "I filed a case with Tungipara Police Station yesterday night, and as a father I demand exemplary punishment to the culprits."

Confirming the case filing, the police station officer in-charge AFM Nasir said they are trying to arrest the accused.
