Sacked Gazipur Mayor freed on bail

The High Court granted interim bail for six months to sacked mayor of Gazipur City Corporation MA Mannan in a sabotage case.

The HC bench of Justice Md. Shawkat Hosen and Justice KM Kamrul Kader passed the order on Thursday after hearing.

Police filed the cases against him with Tongi and Kaliakoir Police Stations in 2013 in connection with his alleged involvement in violence during the indefinite blockades sponsored by the BNP-Jamaat led 20-party alliance.

He was sacked for having too many criminal cases against him in 2015.
