Ron Haque Sikder secures bail

Sikder Group's Managing Director Ron Haque Sikder has secured bail in a case filed for allegedly attempting to kill EXIM Bank's two officials.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ashek Imam gave the order after he was produced before the court by police seeking his confinement in jail until probe of the case is finished.

He faced arrest upon his arrival at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport following the death of his father. 

His father and Sikder Group's Chairman Zainul Haque Sikder passed away on Wednesday.

A case was lodged with Gulshan Police Station on May 19 last year accusing Ron Haque Sikder and his brother Dipu Haque Sikder of attempting to murder EXIM Bank's two officials, including its managing director.

Following the case filing, Ron and Dipu fled Bangladesh and flew to Thailand.
