‘Shooting to prevent extortion if necessary’

Police will open fire if necessary to prevent extortion and hijacking to ensure the safety of general people ahead of Eid-Ul-Fitr, said Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Md. Asaduzzaman Miah on Thursday.
DMP Commissioner said this at a traffic awareness program at Gabtoli Inter-districts bus terminal on at 12 on Thursday.
Later, a documentary on traffic awareness was screened by DMP, traffic department.
