Man's body found in house, wife's in canal

Police recovered the bodies of a man and his wife in Sadar upazila in Thakurgaon district on Tuesday morning.

The deceased were Saidur Rahman, 40, resident of Akcha Kazipara area in the upazila and his wife Asma Begum, 35. They both were, by profession, hotel workers.

Sadar Police Station officer in-charge Tanvirul Islam said they retrieved the body of Saidur from his homestead and the thraot-slit one of Asma from a canal near the home this morning. 

Being informed this morning that a man committed suicide in Akcha Kazipara area, police went to the spot and recovered the body of Saidur from his homestead, Tanvirul said.

The body, however, was sent to Thakurgaon Adhunik Sadar Hospital morgue, the OC added.

Two hours after the body was recovered, police were informed by the locals that they noticed a throat-slit body in a canal in the same area, he also said

Later, a team of police and its Criminal Investigation Department went to the spot and retrieved the body from there. 

OC Tanvirul said superintendent of the district police Zahangir Alam and other higher officials visited the spot, and the law enforcers were looking into the matter.
