Bangladesh sees lowest Covid deaths in 8 months
Bangladesh on Friday reported seven deaths from coronavirus, this is the lowest record of fatality in last nine months.
With this, the country's death toll stood at 8,094, the Directorate General of Health Services said in a press release.
During the period, 454 more people were diagnosed with the virus, raising the total infection to 5,34,407.
Of the total patients, 4,78,960 recovered, with 414 made recovery in the last 24 hours.
The daily count came from test of 12,075 samples in the past day. With this, a total of 36,27,413 samples have, so far, been tested.
Bangladesh first reported its COVID-19 cases on March 8. Since then the country has been struggling to limit spread of the highly contagious virus.
Coronavirus first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December last year, and then spread to newer countries and territories.
Till date, the epidemic infected 102,104,319 people and killed 2,202,627 across the globe, according to Worldometer, a website which compiles number of new coronavirus cases and deaths from it.
However, total number of people who recovered from the coronavirus pandemic reached 73,957,536 across the world.
