Municipal’s councilor held with Yaba

Police held a councilor along his wife and another person with yaba at Bymile in Gazipur on early Wednesday.

The detainees are Shahidur Rahman Shipon, a councilor of Mirzapur municipality, his wife Shaymoli, 27 and his car driver Minhaz Uddin, 40.

In-charge of Konabari Police Camp Md. Rafiqul Islam said, police had given a signal to a Tangail bound private car to stop at Bymile check post on Dhaka-Tangail highway. But the car tried to flee away overtaking the signal.

Later police personnel intercepted the car and held three people with 5 thousand yaba pills.
