Verdict in publisher Dipan murder case on Feb 10

A tribunal in Dhaka fixed February 10 to deliver its verdict in a case filed over the murder of Jagriti Prokashoni's former publisher Faisal Arefin Dipan.

Anti-terrorism Special Tribunal Judge Md Mujibur Rahman set the verdict delivery date after conclusion of arguments of the prosecution and defendants.

Faisal Arefin Dipan was killed at his Aziz Super Market office in capital Dhaka's Shahbagh on October 31, 2015. 

On that day, his wife lodged a case with Shahbagh Police Station in this connection.

On November 15, 2018, police pressed charges against eight people, and recommended acquittal of 11 others.

On October 13, 2019, Dhaka's Anti-Terrorism Tribunal charged the eight members of banned militant outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT), including the organization member and dismissed Bangladesh Navy officer major Syed Ziaul Haque.
