Installation of 2nd steering committee of NYBB held

Network of Young Biotechnologists of Bangladesh (NYBB) starts the New Year with the beginning of a new steering committee. 

The installation of the 2nd Steering Committee was successfully held online at 8pm on 17 January, says a press release.

Patrons of NYBB - Dr. Haseena Khan (Dhaka University), Dr. Zeba Islam Siraj (Dhaka University) and Dr. Md. Salimullah (National Institute of Biotechnology) and the board of directors- Dr. Mustak Ibn Ayub (Dhaka University), Dr. Adnan Mannan (Chittagong University) and Dr. S M Mahbubur Rashid (Dhaka University) Ikhtiar Zahid (Biotech Concern Limited) were present during the programme.

In addition, the presence of Dr. Sabina Yeasmin (Department of Genetic Engineering & Biotechnology, University of Dhaka), Prof. Dr. Nurul Absar (Biochemistry and Biotechnology, University of Science and Technology Chittagong) and the managers and coordinators of NYBB- Dr. Abdul Mohin Sajib (FDA), Md. Arif Khan (Lecturer, Department of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering, University of Development Alternative), Muhammad Salman (Chevron), Md. Mahbub Hasan (King's College London), Abdullah Al Jubayer (BSMRSTU), Afrin Sultana Chowdhury (NSTU) and Mahamudul Hasan (SAU) made this eventful evening more delightful with their valuable presence. 

The evening started off with the welcoming speech by one of the board of directors, Dr Adnan Mannan. Afterwards, the program harmoniously continued as the guests gave insightful yet precise speeches to congratulate, guide and encourage the new 26 faces of the 2nd steering committee. 

While Dr. Haseena Khan shared her views on the importance of completing higher education in national institutions, Dr. Zeba I. Siraj shed light on the future prospects that should be achieved by NYBB. 

Moreover, Dr. Salimullah shared how NIB and NYBB have worked and will be working together to create a gleeful community for young biotechnologists. 

Lastly the chairpersons of their respective university's biotechnology department, warmly congratulated the 2nd steering committee and shared hopeful words for the organization.

The former CEO Md. Arif Khan briefed the guests about the past activities and achievements in the last year. On the other hand, the current CEO shared the future plans of the new steering committee and the COO expressed gratitude to all the attendees on behalf of the steering committee members.
