3 get death in Kakrail mother-son murder case
A court in Dhaka has sentenced three people to death in a case filed over the murder of a woman and her son in Kakrail area in the capital.
Judge Rabiul Alam of the Third Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court of Dhaka passed the order on Sunday.
Earlier on January 10, the same court fixed today to deliver its judgment in the case after hearing.
The three death-row convicts are dead Shamsun Nahar’s husband Abdul Karim, his second wife Sharmin Mukta and Mukta’s brother Al-Amin alias Jonny.
On November 01, 2017, Shamsun Nahar and her son Shaown, an A level student, were killed at their residence in the capital’s Kakrail area.
On November 2, 2017, Shamsun Nahar’s brother Ashraf Ali filed the case against her husband Abdul Karim, his second wife Sharmin Mukta, Mukta’s brother Jonny and others.
Ramna police station Inspector Ali Hossain, also the investigation officer (IO) of this case filed charge sheet against Abdul Karim, Sharmin Mukta, and Jonny on July 16, 2018.
