New express train on Dhaka-Ctg route presses from June 26

A new intercity nonstop train ‘Sonar Bangla Express’ will be plied on Dhaka-Chittagong route from June 26. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina would formally introduce the train services on June 25.

Confirming the matter Additional Director General (operation) of Bangladesh Railways Mohammad Habibur Rahman told that the train will head from Kamlapur Railway Station at 7 am and reach Chittagong at 12 noon while the return trip will start from Chittagong Railway Station at 5 pm, ending at Dhaka station at 10.40 pm.

The train will have only one stoppage at Dhaka Airport in between the route. Passengers will be able to get down there during the journey, reports BSS.

Railways sources said all preparations are being taken for launching the new intercity train having 16 coaches including air-conditioned ones.

Meanwhile, intercity ‘Suborna Express’ train has been continuing its operations on Dhaka-Chittagong routes since long.
