Journalist Mizanur Rahman Khan laid to rest

Noted journalist Mizanur Rahman Khan was buried at Shaheed Buddhijibi Graveyard in Mirpur on Tuesday afternoon. 

Earlier, his first namaz-e-janaza was held at the Supreme Court Lawyers Association premises around 10am while second janaza at Dhaka Reporters Unity premises around 11am and third janaza at National Press Club. 

Later, his body was taken to his workplace Prothom Alo where his colleagues paid their last tributes to him.  

Khan passed away at the age of 53 yesterday while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the city.

Earlier, he tested positive for coronavirus on November 27 last.

On December 10, he was shifted to intensive care unit (ICU) of the Universal Medical College Hospital after his condition deteriorated.

On Saturday, Khan was put on life support as his condition further deteriorated.

Khan worked as Jugantar’s special correspondent and was its assistant editor from 1999 to 2004.

He later joined Samakal as a deputy editor.

Khan debuted his journey in Prothom Alo on November 1, 2005.
