Man hacked to death over land dispute in Dinajpur

A man was hacked to death allegedly by his son over a land-related dispute at Gobindapur village in Parbatipur upazila of Dinajpur on Monday night.

The deceased was identified as Moksed Ali, in his sixties, a resident of the area.

The Parbatipur Police Officer-in-charge Mahmudul Alam, said Moksed locked into an altercation with his son Abdul Malek over selling a piece of land at about 10:00pm.

At one stage, Malek stabbed his father with a sharp weapon, leaving him dead on the spot.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Malek went into hiding after the incident.
