Friend confesses to killing O-level student after rape

A teenage boy has confessed to murdering his friend and an O-level student after rape in Kalabagan area of capital Dhaka. 

He gave his confessional statement on Friday after he was produced before Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court.

The court also ordered to send him to jail. 

The victim's father filed a case with Kalabagan Police Station after Thursday midnight making her friend Tanveer Iftekhar Dihan, 18, lone accused of killing her after rape, said officer in-charge AFM Asaduzzaman.

Police's New Market Zone senior assistant commissioner Abul Hasan said Anwar Khan Modern Medical College Hospital authorities on Thursday afternoon informed police that a teenage boy had brought a teenage girl to the facility dead. 

During that police requested the hospital authorities to hold the teenage boy, and later they detained him in connection with the death.

Abul Hasan said detained Dihan had told them that he took the victim to their flat at Dolphin Lane when other family members were outside.

At one stage, he have had intercourse with the girl but after a while she became unconscious. Then, she has been rushed to Anwar Khan Medical College Hospital, he claimed to police, Abul Hasan added.

The police official also said they found sign of rape in inquest report. Actual reason of death would be known after completion of autopsy report, he added.
