4 killed in Sylhet microbus cylinder blast

Four people were burnt to death and four others injured when a gas cylinder of a microbus exploded after being hit by a truck in Sylhet on Wednesday morning.  

The accident took place on Sylhet-Zakiganj road at Hetimganj area in Golapganj upazila of the district.  

Three of the deceased were identified as Rajan Ahmed, 27, son of late Kunu Miah of Beanibazar upazila, microbus driver Sunam Ahmed, 26, son of Abdul Jalil and Hasan Ahmed, 8, son of Monju Miah.

In this connection, Mohammad Harunur Rashid, officer-in-charge of Golapganj Model Police Station, said four people were killed and four others injured after a gas cylinder of a microbus exploded after being hit by a truck in the area. 

On information, members of fire service and police rushed to the spot and took the fire under control. Later, the injured people were sent to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, the OC added.
