2 killed as pickup van hits auto rickshaw

At least two people were killed and five others injured as a pickup van hits an auto rickshaw in front of the Hazi Asmot College of Bhairab municipality area on Kishoreganj-Bhairab road on Tuesday morning.

The deceased are Nazma Begum, 22, of Raypura upazila hailed from Narsingdi and Md. Jamal Miah of Latifpur of Kishoreganj Sadar upazila.

In this connection, officer-in-charge of Bhairab Highway Police Station Md. Mizanul Haque said, an auto rickshaw was going to Bhairab from Kishoreganj. At that time a speedy pickup van coming from opposition hits the auto rickshaw, leaving 8 people injured on the spot.

Later injured people were admitted to hospital where the doctor declared two people dead, he added.
