Photojournalist Kajol walks free from jail
After a long nine-month, photojournalist Shafiqul Islam Kajol on Friday got release from prison.
He, also editor of Daily Pakkhokal, walked free from Dhaka Central Jail, Keraniganj, around 11am.
Wife Julia Ferdousi and son Monoram Palak received him at the jail gate.
Photojournalist Kajol went missing on March 11, and 53 days aftergoing missing he was detained by Border Guard of Bangladesh on charge of intruding from India on May 2.
He was accused in a case filed by BGB on the charge on May 3, and he secured in the lawsuit subsequently.
Later, he was shown arrested another case filed under section 54, and since then he was in jail.
Earlier on March 10, lawmaker from Magura-1 constituency Saifuzzaman Shikhor sued him and 31 others with capital Dhaka's Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station under the Digital Security Act.
Two leaders of Mahila Jubo League also filed two cases against him with Dhaka's Kamrangichar and Hazaribagh Police Stations under same act.
The High Court on November 24 granted bail to Kajol in the case of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station.
The HC granted him bail in the cases filed under Kamrangichar and Hazaribagh Police Stations.
