Biman suspends Saudi Arabia-bound flights for a week

Biman Bangladesh airlines has cancelled its all flights to Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam from today as the Saudi Arabia government imposed ban on all international commercial flights due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Tahera Khandaker, Deputy General Manager (public relations) of Biman, confirmed the matter on Monday. 

Passengers of the suspended flights will be allotted seats on priority basis subject to its vacancy after flight resumption, she said.

Earlier on Sunday, Saudi Arabia suspended all international passenger flights for one week in response to a new strain of the coronavirus.

The decisions were made in response to the emergence of a potent new strain of the virus in the UK and other European countries.
