2 Bangladeshis shot dead by BSF in Thakurgaon

Two Bangladeshis were shot dead by India’s Border Security Force (BSF) in Thakurgaon on Tuesday morning. 

The incident took place at Betna border area under Bakua union in Haripur upazila of the district around 6:30pm. 

The deceased were identified as Najir Uddin, 30, son of late Abdul Majid of Manikkhari village of the upazila and Rabiul Islam, 20, son of Bhakku Miah, of Moshaldangi village of Balidangi upazila.  

In this connection, Arongojeb, officer-in-charge of Haripur Police Station, said the duo were shot by BSF when they were entering into the Indian territory illegally. Later, local people rescued them from the spot. 

Rabiul died on the way to Baliadangi and Najir died on the way to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital, the OC added.
